uh oh...

The other night the 3 of us were hanging out on the floor, coloring and playing. When Vinnie went to stand up, he farted. Connor got a worried look on his face and said, "uh oh, Daddy poop!"

Nice for the first post in 3 and a half months, huh? Sorry I haven't been keeping up with the blog. It's hard to find time to blog, but I will try to do a better job.

So the last 3 1/2 months in a nutshell; Connor had a great 2nd birthday and Christmas. He got lots and lots of fun toys. We converted his crib to a toddler bed and he loves it. He has done really well with the transition. We got to see Buzz and Woody at the Disney Rockin' Road Show, and Connor was mesmerized throughout the show. Connor has had a lot of ear infections so we got ear tubes put in and he seems to be doing well with those so far. It looks like they will be put to the test. He just came down with a cold, so we will see if his cold turns into an ear infection.

So those are the big things that Connor has been up to since I last updated. I will try to update more often so I can tell funny stories like the "Daddy poop" story. We are looking forward to nice weather so we can get outside and play. It has been a long cold Winter, and even though the calendar says it is Spring, right now I am looking outside at several inches of snow on the ground.

The other thing that I am excited about, is I found a cool website that has some great learning and craft ideas. It's called No Time for Flashcards. I just got home from Target just where I was able to find everything on the basic supply list to get started on all the crafts! I'm so excited! Connor loves to color so I think he will enjoy making all these crafts, and he will be learning at the same time. The only thing is, he doesn't like getting his hands dirty (silly kid) so he isn't a big fan of finger painting. We'll have to work on getting him over that.

I'll leave you with a few recent pics. These were taken on one of the only nice weather days we've had recently. Hopefully we will have more soon!

Party!

Connor has had 2 birthday celebrations so far and his birthday is still almost a week away! I can't believe my baby will be 2 next week! Last weekend we went to Mimi's and Papa's to celebrate his birthday along with our other December birthday boys; Dad and David. We had a nice time, ate hamburgers and hot dogs, Connor got some cool new toys and then we ate some yummy cake. Connor even had his very own "2" cake.

Last night we hosted a party at our house with Grandma Cathy and her family. Connor's birthday party was a train theme and Vinnie and I made a train cake.

Connor got all kinds of nice presents! Thank you everyone for celebrating Connor's birthday with us!

We also paid a visit to Santa Claus last weekend at Grandma Cathy's bank. It took Connor awhile to go up to Santa. He finally did when Santa offered him a gift, but he was not cool with sitting next to him. Maybe next year.

Happy Halloween

We've been down and out with the flu this past week, so we didn't get to go all out for Halloween this year. Connor did put his monkey costume on though and he made an adorable little monkey! We went trick or treating at the next door neighbor's house. Next year we will do some real trick or treating to make up for this year. Here are some pictures of our cute little monkey and a few from pumpkin carving last week:

All Aboard!

They had a Mickey Mouse Choo Choo Express exhibit at Union Station this weekend. I took Connor down there Saturday morning and he had a great time. They gave Connor a "boarding pass" and they had different play stations and they would get their boarding passes stamped at each station.

The first one we went to was the hands on train station. Connor liked that one the most.

Then we went to the coloring station. That one was not near as exciting since we can color at home.

Next we went to the storytime station, but we didn't stay there very long because that's when Mickey came out and danced. Connor was mesmerized by that!

On our way out Connor got a cute little train conductor's hat.

We Have a Ghost

Last night, I had Connor pretending to be a ghost. He waved his arms around and said "ooooo, OOOO" in the cutest little eerie voice. This morning when I tried to get him to do it again, he just pointed his finger at me and said, "no, NOOO!" So I thought great, he will never do it again and I won't get it on video for all to see. Well, we kind of got him to do it again tonight, although not quite as well as he did last night. But nonetheless, we did get it on video and here it is. I will try to get a better video another time, but at least you get the idea.

I have another funny story about Connor that I forgot to tell. We haven't officially started potty training yet, but we have bought a potty chair. I'm just trying to get him used to the potty chair so sometimes I sit him on it while I am getting his bath ready.

A few weeks ago I did this and I took off his crocs, shorts, and diaper and set him on the chair. He sat there for all of 10 seconds and stood up, put his crocs back on and took off running around the house. So, I have a naked toddler wearing crocs running around the house. I finish running his bath and find him in the kitchen along with Vinnie.

I started talking to Vinnie about I can't even remember what now, and I hear Connor saying something, but I am not quite sure what it is. I looked down and he is stompping his foot in a puddle of; you guessed it, pee. So Vinnie starts to clean up the pee and I go to pick Connor up and he starts to walk through it. Vinnie (accidentally letting a bad word slip) said, "Be careful, you're walking through the piss." And of course Connor repeated, "piss." Then as I started to walk off with him, I realized the other word he was saying while Vinnie and I were talking. Rain.

Fun Fall Weekend

We have been having so much fun lately that I haven't had time to blog! I know, poor excuse. Sorry I have been neglecting the blog. I will give you some of the highlights of the fun we have been having over the past few months.

Last month, Connor got to go bowling for the first time at Nicki and Tyler's 9th birthday. I can't believe Nicki and Tyler are already 9 years old. It seems like just yesterday that they were born. It makes me realize how fast Connor will grow up too. Here are some pictures from the bowling party.

We have had perfect fall weather this weekend, and we have had fun being out and enjoying it. Yesterday we went to the zoo and it was a little cold, but not enough to keep us away. You may remember, we went to the zoo in May and didn't get to see much, partly because the zoo is so spread out and party because Connor did not want to ride in the stroller or be carried.

This time we took the wagon and that worked out a little better. He enjoys wagon rides over stroller rides. He enjoyed going down the slides at the playground more than he enjoyed looking at the animals, but he did get excited over the cheetahs. They were actually not napping, and they were running around chasing each other. Oh and as a bonus, Connor got to meet Sponge Bob!

Today we went to Red Barn Farm in Weston, MO with MiMi and PaPa. Connor really enjoyed the petting zoo, and sliding down the hay.
